Framing the Landscape App – Itunes
When downloading the application via a third party Itunes please refer to Apple Privacy policy https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/privacy/en-ww/
As The University of Huddersfield constructed the application they have access to three areas through downloading of the app to your iphone. Please read this before deciding to download the App. The ‘we’ refers to the University of Huddersfield.
Location:
– So that we can say how far away (roughly) the user is from the various frames
– So that when we download the map we can show the user where they are in relation to the other frames
– So that we can unlock the paintings when they’re close enough to one. This is then saved – the unlock state, not their location.
Camera:
– So that we can grab the current image from the camera to decide whether you are looking at the frame
– We don’t save any of these images from the camera they’re grabbed, checked, then thrown away
Microphone:
– So that the user can save their own recording from the frame
– This is saved but should be removed when they uninstall the app or clear the apps data
You can disable all of these functions by not allowing the App access to your location, camera or microphone through your privacy settings on your iphone or by choosing to not download the App.
